[Qgis-psc] QGIS Server funding

Hello,
Here a short report about issues on PNG format. We are checking the first issue on PNG compression as it seems that it is a really specific use case. 
However we did some profiling on WMS getmap and motives that we lost a lot of time is spent on emcoding the in memory image into png. This issue needs 4-5 days.
I got a more technical information on another email address but I can't copy past easily from my laptop to my phone  (hostel Wi-Fi is not working well).

Just as a short note regarding PNG encoding in QGIS server:

The City of Uster would be willing to finance this, but they need a clear plan and some guarantee that there actually will be a sensible performance improvement. They can't just sponsor on the outlook that it may or may not be an improvement (meaning they can't fund general research were the outcome is uncertain).

Andreas Vonlaufen would be the contact in uster. Andreas knows about the project but apparently the contract wasn't agreed upon yet, as the outcome of the proposal was too uncertain for the City of Uster.
