Agreed - this is a nice step forward for the project, lets not chuck it away :-(

I would propose to suggest users of 10.11 and 10.12 use William’s packages (if they work with those versions) and rather be forward looking, focussing on current and future macOS releases. I think people generally keep their macOS current - upgrades are free and mostly hassle free so there is little incentive not to.
