[Qgis-psc] Financial warning

Hi all,

participate in the paid bug fixing campaign for the low rate of 100 € h
for us"

From what I see, rates are really different among qgis core devs and
potential bug fixer. Probably from 650€ to 1300 € a day. Each country
has its own constraints that lead to a dayli price.

Up to now, as soon as Andreas gave us a go for our estimate, we charged
only for what had been dealed. In the very last run, we had some
developpers eager to jump in and our work load allowed us to do more. We
spent more than twice the time in bugfixing, to the very benefit of
QGIS.org.

While I understand Jonathan proposal, I once tried this contract mode,
when I still was a funder. I must say it is not applicable to bugfixing.
Some bugs can be tackled in seconds, if you know where to find, others
require days to reproduce, understand and fix. (I have a 2 months
workload in memory for speed issues in QGIS server, with only one word
to change in the source code).  And more than this, the time you take to
contract, someone might already has fixed the bug you are looking at.

So I would be ok for a clearer call to potential bug fixers, but keep
the current way of doing things: list all the issues tackled, confidence.

In the end, about the hourly rate, we charge the same as usual for
coding in any open source project.

Best regards,

Régis
