I also feel the in person meeting are a great enrichment to the project.

I can totally feel you there, for myself I've the same issue when I fly
for work or yes (let's be honest at times also for leisure)
Something I've started doing already 5 years ago is _at least_ to carbon
offset all my flights through myclimate.org. I know it is not the
solution but it can't hurt. I'm considering now to offset my (and
OPENGIS.ch) total foot print
