[qgis-qwc2] Projection issue with QWC2

Hi Sandro,

I have just played a bit around with the used CRS´s. So Ukraine issue pops up if I use EPSG:31467, which is GK Zone 3 and fits for Germany well. Using EPSG:25832 (UTM Zone 32) works fine. I double checked that my appConfig.js contains the correct Proj4 information for both CRS´s.
The Minimap has a strange behavior even while using UTM Zone 32. It´s showing central France instead of western Germany.

Best Regards

Sebastian.

Hi

It is using EPSG:4326 because it reads EX_GeographicBoundingBox from the extents which is lat/lon.

Are you using the latest git master of QWC2? I set the bbox you specified in the demo wolfsburg theme and I get an initial extent centered approx in Dortmund, so doesn't look that wrong.

Hi Sandro,

here is the extent from the generated themes.json:

"bbox": {
          "crs": "EPSG:4326",
          "bounds": [
            4.07475,
            50.1364,
            11.3218,
            52.6646
          ]
        },
        "initialBbox": {
          "crs": "EPSG:4326",
          "bounds": [
            4.07475,
            50.1364,
            11.3218,
            52.6646
          ]
        },

I am just wondering, why it´s using EPSG:4326 but the bounds are looking ok for my WMS extent.

Best regards

Sebastian

Hi Sebastain

What extent does the generated themes.json contain?

Hi Sandro,

the themesConfig.json does not contain extent information, so QWC2 should use the extent from the QGIS Server, right? But there is something going wrong then. The extent of the WMS is an area in Germany and I want QWC2 to use that. Instead the QWC2 client shows an area around the Ukraine. I tried some configuration like switching the default WMS version because I am aware of the different axis order handling between 1.1.1 and 1.3.0 but nothing changed.
What´s interesting about my QGIS Server WMS is that x and y axis are interchanged in version 1.3.0 following my understanding that x is longitude and y is latitude. But the WMS service works correctly while using it within QGIS. So, for me, there is an issue within the configuration of my QWC2 instance or within the interpretation of the extents within the WMS.
The question is, which adjustments can I make to solve the issue or how I can identify the reason for the wrong behavior.

Best Regards

Sebastain

Hi

Is the extent being overridden in themesConfig.json? If not, the initial extent is just read from the WMS capabilities, i.e. EX_GeographicBoundingBox of the root layer. Also, make sure that the used projection appropriate for Ukraine.

Hi all,

I am currently trying a bit arround with qwc2 and it seems for us to be a perfect solution for several customers, as the data specific part can more or less completely be done within QGIS itself by the customers.
Now I am facing issues with map projections. The client sets a bbox around the Ukraine instead of Middle-Europe. I checked the QGIS Server WMS Capabilities and tested the WMS service by adding it to QGIS and everything works just fine. Even if I pan to Germany within my QWC2 map, the layers are displayed correctly. It is just the initial bbox within the client which is strange.

Within the attachment you can find the capabilities file from QGIS Server and my themesConfig.json. Maybe someone has an idea what my issue is about :)

Best Regards

Sebastian
