 Greg,

 I'm quite lost in this ticket.  I mostly just wanted to caution you with
 regard to purchasing ESRI software for jpeg2000 support - in that it uses
 GDAL (JP2KAK driver) and assuming the issues are not entirely platform
 dependent, you might also encounter them in the ArcGIS context.
