 Thanks for the warning.  So, as a test, today I went to a place where I
 was able to use ESRI ArcGIS version 9.2 and 9.3.  Both versions properly
 displayed all of the GeoJPEG2000 .jp2 files I had.
 Would someone please offer an estimate as to when QGIS will be able to
 properly display JPEG2000 images, under Ubuntu and Mac OS X, as it was
 originally did?
