 Coatman could you confirm whether you are testing with Toms 'All in one'
 or Williams 'frameworks' based application bundle on Mac? Please enumerate
 exact bundle source for both the QGIS 0.8 and later versions you used.
 This seems to be a packaging issue rather than an issue in core of QGIS. I
 tested here under linux and the images loaded properly. Once we have
 identified exactly whose packages, we should reassign this to the
 appropriate packager (I see William has already participated in this
 thread).

 I'm keeping this milestoned for 1.0 for the time being since we need to
 get 0.11.0 released asap.
