Comment:

 On Ubuntu 8.04 with GDAL 1.4 (using Jasper 1.9) the colors are correct for
 this image. As this color issue is also a problem in FWTools2.1 which is
 built with kakadu, I have to conclude that the issue has to do with either
 kakadu and/or GDAL and not QGIS.

 As this is not an bug introduced by QGIS, I am closing this ticket and
 hope the devs from kakadu & GDAL will be able to solve this problem.
