 For shapefiles, when changing the "Display Field" item under the General
 tab of the layer properties, the drop-down menu always shows the first
 field once the layer properties dialog has been closed and reopened. The
 drop-down should display the last selected item instead. This only occurs
 after closing the dialog, not when switching between tabs of an open
 dialog.
