And it should not be called that. "Projection" is merely a component of a
"spatial reference system" aka "coordinate system".

"Deprecated" are "broken" rather than "old ones". They are kept in the
EPSG database though for keeping the track of changes. Eg. 2171 is
"deprecated" because it has a huge error. It's valid counterpart was added
as 3120, about a year ago.
