#1176: Transverse mercator south orientated projections not supported
-----------------------------------------------------+----------------------
Reporter: halfhaggis | Owner: homann
Type: bug | Status: new
Priority: major: does not work as expected | Milestone: Version 1.1.0
Component: Projection Support | Version: HEAD

Platform_version: | Platform: Debian
Must_fix: Yes | Status_info: 0

Comment (by halfhaggis):
I'm not sure what the right approach to fixing this in qgis is, but using
the command-line tools cs2cs and proj, I get the correct results for the
projections with the -m flag. As warmerdam suggests, it appears that axis
orientation control would solve this.
I came to this conclusion after extensive experimentation and discussion
with Gerald Evenden via the proj4 mailing list.
This [http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/proj/2008-August/003608.html
post] and this [http://lists.maptools.org/pipermail/proj/2008-
August/003620.html post] seem most relevant.
