 Attached is a patch that fixes a spelling error I discovered in the
 comments (it's not huge, just annoying). I also made an adjustment to
 diagram_overlay to cleanup and leave if the text is empty.  Originally a
 similar check was at the end of the method, and I just moved it up to the
 top just to get it out of the way quickly since there was no point to do
 all the extras if it wasn't necessary.
