 "supposed"? as in specific to the qgis build scripts, right? for previous
 backports of other software I've used the unstable/ testing/ stable/ old-
 stable names without problem.

 ok, done that. Now it gets past the main build but I get a weird linking

 Apparently errors >3000 lines long so the start of it is beyond my
