 the usb devices work fine (out of the box) with the standard QGIS gps
 tools, under both Linux (at least Ubuntu) and Windows.

 Serial devices (including usbserial devices and serial bluetooth) speaking
 NMEA are supported.  Garmin use an other USB protocol.
