Hi Everyone :)  my name is Victor

I'm new to GIS in general, I've used esri's fartGIS once... back in 2008 
at an annual meeting conference in Portland, and they've been sending me 
their magazine eversince.  Makes good fire fodder.

After I got home I tried to use GrassGis and bought A very expensive 
book i couldn't understand, since I'm not really a programmer, but a 
geologist.

Got my B.A. in Geology which is STEAM talk for, forgot to take physics.
And a minor in math, which I'm also maybe not great at either.

So like hey!  I've always wanted to be a geologist since 2nd grade and 
graduated one in 2008 from UMinnD!  And I'm glad I've found you all, 
since I've been using Gnu/linux since 2002 when SuSe came out with that 
horrible box set and knoppix just came out.

How long has everybody else been using FOSS software, I wonder?
