I am having a problem on large projects of QGIS either crashing after
opening a new layer or getting to a point when I try to save the
project,
most of my files and directories have disappeared in the SAVE dialogs
box. I
tried to save a layer style and I got a warning that I did not have
sufficient file permissions. I am seeing the following in the console
log:
Jun 16 08:59:37 rcline-macpro [0x0-0x1c01c].org.qgis.qgis[246]:
QKqueueFileSystemWatcherEngine::addPaths: open: Too many open files
Jun 16 08:59:37 rcline-macpro [0x0-0x1c01c].org.qgis.qgis[246]:
QEventDispatcherUNIXPrivate(): Unable to create thread pipe: Too many
open
files

QEventDispatcherUNIXPrivate: Unable to init thread pipe: Bad file
descriptor

QEventDispatcherUNIXPrivate: Unable to get flags on thread pipe: Bad
file
descriptor
This is qgis0.10.0 from William Kyngesburye on OS X 10.5.3. I have
about 75
layers in the project, about half are GRASS vector files. The console
log
appears to indicate I am trying to open to many files. What is the file
limit?
