[Qgis-user] Panning while editing vector layers

Moving mouse cursor with space pressed does it. Not only in digitizing mode.
It would be great if the panning key was configurable though, as space
is also used eg. for toggling layers visibility. If you press space to
pan on map canvas when your layers list is active, you check/uncheck the
hihglited layer instead. Then in order to activate space for panning you
need to select eg. the identify tool and click on the canvas first. Such
switching is a bit tedious and might be not intuitive for new users.
This could be avoided if one was able define a different key for panning.
