What better way to learn than to write down your experiences for the
manual as you go :-) Ok I'll stop sales pitching our wonderful manual

Coordinate capture plugin is part of QGIS core i.e. it will be in
Version 1.0 and is in the QGIS 1.0 preview releases too.
