[Qgis-user] Zoom to Selected with point features

Hi all,

I use the Zoom to Selected button a lot with the attribute table. However,
I am having an issue with point features.

If I select a single point feature it zooms in very far - way to far. I
end up with a map scale of "17:1" - I don't know how QGIS calculatest the
map scale for zoom-in, but I would much rather prefer to have a map scale
of approx. 1:50, to have at least a little clue on the surrounding of the
point feature.

With mapscale of 17:1 I have to zoom out at least 10 times - and this is
not very productive.

Ideally one could configure the behavior of "Zoom to Selected" somewhere
in the project configuration or the overall options. Maybe it makes more
sense in the project configuration since it may vary from project to
project.

Thank you for feedback on my idea on improving the "Zoom to Selected" when
zooming to single point features.
