Hi,

the code from my GSoC project (with some more code regarding symbology
[1]) can be found in SVN in this branch:
http://svn.osgeo.org/qgis/branches/symbology-ng-branch/

I'm back from my vacation so hopefully there will be some progress in
the following weeks.
