[Qgis-user] Problems with GPS tools

Hi!

I have a nmea file that I can convert to gpx using gpsbabel with no problem:
gpsbabel -i nmea -f GPS_20090730_055859.log -o gpx -F GPS_20090730_055859.gpx

and the gpx file works fine in QGIS.

Nevertheless, I cannot read and convert the nmea file to gpx using the gps
plugin in qgis. I select the file and nmea format, but the file
does not get selected in the menu. While using gpsbabel is fine for me, using
the gps tools would be a lot better for students.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? I can provide
the nmea file if required, of course.
