Hi,

Long time ago (about 1996-1998) we wrote .ps files fist to files and
converted them to HPGL with Image Alchemy PS on an Unix computer.  That
way we could print at least five times faster with our HP printers.
Without trying it is impossible to say if there would be any advantage
in doing the same now. For sure printers are faster in interpreting
PostScript nowadays.
