[Qgis-user] Default values for attributes

I just got string attribute, can´t see any widget that can help me in this. Plush Qgis dies if I try to change it.

hI,

you have many options. Go in 

properties -> attributes 

and you'll see an "edit widget" associated to every column in your table.

Choose the one that is useful for you.

  Hi
  I am using Qgis 1.4.0 to mass insert items into vector layer. That is going well but could be better (what can´t  ). Thing is I draw poligcon over some area then the attribute table opens. There I have to punch in few items but most of them are always the same. My question is, can I not set some default values to save me time?
