[Qgis-user] PDF export bug (?)

I am not sure about the status of this, or if it is related to what
I'm finding as well.

Ticket #1982 (closed bug: invalid)

This seems related to what I'm experiencing; if someone can verify
that I should log as bug, I'll do so.

I'm on Kubuntu 9.10, QGIS 1.3.0 (from UbuntuGIS repo).

When I have a map in map composer (great enhancements by the way!) and
hit the export to PDF button, the page size does not stay set to ANSI
A (8.5 x 11) in the exported PDF. Same thing in print to PDF instead
of printer through print . The export has page longer than 8.5 x 11,
seemingly A4?

The way I found around this was go to through the print dialog like
printing a hard copy, and choose print to PDF instead of a printer.
There, the page size gets set to A4, instead of retaining ANSI A - 8.5
x 11 - letter. When I reset that option to ANSI A - 8.5 x 11, it
works great.

It seems that if I were to print a hard copy, it does stay set to ANSI
A - 8.5 x 11. It appears that the PDF option (either through the
export to PDF button or through print dialog to PDF) it changes back
to A4 page size, even though the page layout in map composer is still
at 8.5 x 11.

I searched the tickets and found Ticket #1982 (closed bug: invalid)
that seemed related to this. However, it is stated closed and
invalid.

Should I open a ticket, or is it addressed?

Much thanks, and superb work and enhancements of QGIS! What an
amazing and awesome GIS software. Thanks to all the contributors!

Mark
