[Qgis-user] QGIS does not read GRID format

Hi!

There is a very interesting collection of data
in GRID format (gri + grd files) in

http://www.diva-gis.org/gData

that QGIS fails to read.
The problem does not seem to be in GDAL, as R is able to
read these files through rgdal with no problem.

Not sure if this is an error or I'm doing something wrong.
Could anybody else look into it before I fill a ticket?
