Hello!

Mhmm...tricky...

* First question: Is it a USB or serial device? (same question as Micha...)
* Did it work already? Has it stopped working after an upgrade for 
example or something similar...?
* Sorry - as I dropped in a little later into the thread, maybe you have 
already answered it...

I googled a bit and found messages reporting some problems with certain 
kernel versions under ubuntu...
maybe this procedure described here helps...
