[Qgis-user] Raster/Assign projection

Hi!
When you use Raster/Assign projection

1. The geometry info of the source file is ignored and the one
selected by the user is set?
2. The file is actually reprojected from the source to the target information?

According to the name of the tool and to the contents of the dialog,
it seems [1] is true, but
the help for gdalwarp seems to imply [2]

Also, (and in case [1] were true) could the tool be extended so that
the coordinates of the corners, the pixel size and the rotation could
also be set?
