[Qgis-user] is it possible to show an epsg 27700 polygon shapefile on google satellite layer?

Have done this for a points layer but polygon layer does not seem to work.

The google satellite is via openlayers plugin and displays fine.  The shapefile displays fine in its own crs but when added to the project it does not show up and refuses to 'zoom to layer extent'.  when the shapefile is converted to wgs84 and the same thing tried then the google layer zooms in to the correct area when trying 'zoom to layer extent' but still the shapefile does not display even though its on top of the google layer.

Any suggestions?
