I have the opposite problem. Clean install in a 11.04 64bit machine and
it seems I can't limite the CRSs available (it always shows 3 thousand
and something) even when adding

<properties>
<WMSEpsgList type="QStringList">
...
...
...
<value>4326</value>
</WMSEpsgList>
</properties>

in the project file.
