[Qgis-user] editing point shape file data

You can use the ftools.  Vector > Geometry Tools > Export/Add Geometry
Columns.  This creates a new shapefile with the XCOORD and YCOORD
fields.

There should be a way to just update the existing x y values of your
layer.  Just don't know how.
