[Qgis-user] "unknown WKB" geometry type ?

I have a gdal compiled with ESRI filegeodb support on QGIS 1.7.1 on win 7 64
bit. It works great to use FGDB in QGIS. Sometimes the geometry type is
listed as 'unknown WKB' (instead of point, line or polygon...) not sure why
that is . What could be the issue that this happens?

In case that the layer in the FileGDB is listed as "unknown WKB" in the QGIS
add layer dialog window, efforts to load it in QGIS will result in a crash
of  the program.
