[Qgis-user] points and line distance

Hello all,
I would like to send this question to the list.
I have a shape with points and another one with a line (railway line). Is
there a way to get a new column in the attribute table of the points’ shape
(or maybe a new shape) with the minor distance for each point to the
railway line?

Could anyone help me?
