thanks for your answer.
Do you know how I can update to a version >1.8

( ppa:ubuntugis/ubuntugis-unstable I have already added )

In the docs ( http://hub.qgis.org/wiki/quantum-gis/QGIS_Server_Tutorial ) I
did only find this information for Windows but not for Ubuntu Server.
