OpenLayers is Javascript (In the browser client side). You can use any
backend you want with it. Depending on your needs there are a lot of
choices. The general OSGeo Discuss email list might be a good place to
start if you explain how you want to use such a web interface.

If you're looking for something easy to use try QGIS server, which is
easy to setup with Ubuntu packages.

There are Java, Php, Python, .Net and several other commons options.

Thanks,
Alex

So, I would like to ask you which platform would you suggest me. I am trying to learn to use Openlayers, even if I find it very difficult because I do not have any knowldege of Java and PHP. Do you think that my efforts worth it, or do you think I can find something better and easier to use?
