I'm using the ubuntugis-unstable repo, which is noted as
 the "Ubuntu: With updated dependencies "
in http://hub.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/wiki/Download

You can follow the procedure there or go to
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntugis/+archive/ubuntugis-unstable
and click on "Technical details about this PPA" to add the repos to
your system and then use synaptic

I think ubuntugis-unstable should be the recommended one in the qgis
page, but I might be wrong.
