[Qgis-user] .kml?

I'm trying to pull a downloaded .kml map layer into QGIS, however I've been
unable to
add the file as a vector layer, getting the 'not a valid or recognized
data source' message.

I even put "keyhole markup language" in the file type dropdown when trying
to load it.

I am running QGIS 1.7.4 and I was under the impression that QGIS could load
.kml files.

What's the deal?
