[Qgis-user] Problem with Ubuntu 12

I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04. I uninstalled Qgis 1.74 before the upgrade. I defined the variables to install master in 12.04. When I try to load it I have the splash screen, then nothing. If I have another window open (like a web browser) and I close it Q gis does appear. I suspect that I have some leftovers from my previous installation. So I wonder if somebody can tell me what to do in order not to open firefox before launching Qgis (obviously I am a linux newbie). By the way, Master behaves correctly in a fresh installation of ubuntu 12 in virtual box.
