Hi,

I've managed to pull a 103965 item shape file out on XP using Layers -> Save as and selecting CSV, and leaving everything else as default (which ment create attributes was unchecked). However, I don't have any calculated fields in that file.

This was on an aged toughbook running xp and QGIS 1.7.0 standalone.

If you were going to try the command line approch, then in the start menu in the QGIS folders there should be either MSYS or OSGEO. Either of these will start a command line shell that will include the QGIS bin folders in the path. You should then be able to use the command that Lee suggested.
Note that the form Lee gave assumes you have changed directory (cd) to folder that contains the offending file.

-ramon.

tested again under win 7 and Linux and it works fine here

cheers

I'm on Win XP Professional. I don't find .qgis folder in my installation of 1.7 nor 1.8.
The same shapefiles crashing 1.7 and 1.8 work ok in 1.6 so I assume it's a software isssue.

have a look to the sextante plugin, you will access to tools like Orfeo
Toolbox, GRASS, etc.

under Vista/Seven it is in c:\user\yourusername, under XP should be in
"documents and settings".

cheers

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but the simple way to extract
nodes for a given line in QGIS is via "Vector > Geometry Tools > Extract
nodes". That's just the point-and-click manual GUI way though, so if you
need to do this in batches then try Micha's solution

The new feature in 1.8:

   - Export/add geometry column tool can export info using layer CRS,
   project CRS or ellipsoidal measurements

Not able to use with changing project CRS and On The Fly both, tried with
field calculator also with geometry. What is right way?

HIi,

I was trying to open Microstation *.dgn files using QGIS. Though the *.dgn
file format is there in the list of vector file formats supported by QGIS,
it result in an error message showing that *.dgn is not a recognizable
format.

Only DGN v7 (and older?) is supported.
