[Qgis-user] Multiple Map Layout

Hi Lee,
If I understand the workings of print composer correctly, "lock layers for
map item" does exactly that: Lock layers, NOT symbology. The symbology of a
locked layer can change. What the option does is to avoid that new layers
are added to the map or that layers are turned off.
Therefore, if you want multiple map items on a page displaying on dataset
in different styles, it seems necessary to duplicate the layer in the
project file.
