 Comparing a software running in WINE against a native application is 
 hardly very useful. Also - if the machine has 16 Gig RAM he is probably 
 running a 64bit version with more RAM in Linux while MapInfo in WINE is 
 most likely running in 32bit.

 Personally, I would not spread such comparisons if they aren't really 
 sound and fair.
