[Qgis-user] kml to qgs file through QGIS

kml and qgs are two different things.
kml is a file format, like shapefile.
qgis is a Qgis project.
The two formats refer to completely different things :)

You should be able to open the kml file with Qgis, as any other vector file
supported by OGR. Then you can export it to whatevere else file format [1]
