[Qgis-user] measurment of acreage

Hi,
Really dumb question, but does the field you're putting your area in have enough length?
(I have periodically messed up the length field before and got unexpected results. Also, once or twice I've opened a .dbf up in Libreoffice, and on saving it's helpfully adjusted my field lengths)
