there is no other error message and Im using the Gdal tools. I dont understand OS.

I'm probably not going to help much. 
Does it help if the image and project are in the same CRS (datm/projection)?

Otherwise, some more information will help. 
Does QGIS give any more error message?
Which version of QGIS are you using?
Which OS?
Are you trying to do this through GDAL tools ( the raster menu) or some other way?
