Hi Yoshi,

You need to preserve the file structure (i.e. leave all the files in the
folders they came in) and select the larger .adf file with the add raster
layer button. If you've a lot of these to do it's worth processing them via
a script in GRASS or gdal. If you've only a handful then QGIS will be ideal.

I wrote a blog post yesterday on getting started with raster data in QGIS,
this could be useful for you.

Good luck!

----------------------------
I am a new bee of GIS including QGIS. I am trying to read (open) DEM file
of Southeast Queensland which is obtained from the State government. The
DEM zip file contains the following files. I have tried "add vector layer"
and "add raster layer" from "Layer" command, but these files could not be
opened with these commands.

SEQ.aux 2 kb
SEQ.rrd 19,986 kb
<info> folder
arc.dir 1 kb
arc0000.dat 1kb
arc0000.nit 1 kb
arc0001.dat 1 kb
arc0001.nit 1 kb
<seq> folder
dblbnd.adf 1 kb
hdr.adf 1 kb
prj.adf 1 kb
sta.adf 1 kb
w001001.adf 226,697 kb
w001001x.adf 187 kb

Thank you for your reply in advance.

Kind regards
Yoshi
