[Qgis-user] Problem with opening data in 1.9.0

I do not know if anyone experienced the same problem, but I cannot open any
vector data with the .shp extension. I tried it for different data sets,
also for the Corine Land Cover or the Alaska data set from the QGGIS
webpage. Any suggestions? Also, I have updated my version this morning, if
it would be any explanation.
