[Qgis-user] points with altitude

Is there enay way to record altitude in qgis?

Can one calculate distance of points that are near in terms of 2D
coordinates, but they are far away regarding altitude?

Say if I want to calculate radio link losses from a repeater located on a
hill, and an end station residing down in the city.

Can I create a mesh between two 3D points? This applies if I have 3D map... I guess.
