Yes, the solution is to do it step by step with raster calculator and to create a new tiff raster.

I don't think it's an all in one step, but what you describe can be done
with Raster Calculators in QGIS, GRASS and probably SAGA or Orfeo (most
of which could be used via the Processing menu too).
