[Qgis-user] Newbie - QGIS won't recongize shp files, comp turns shp files into pdfs

Hi Matthew,
Please provide a step-by-step description of what you are doing to
starting from downloading the file or record a screencast
(http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/screen_recorder). It's really hard to
guess what's going wrong without details.
