[Qgis-user] corrupted file

I opened a QGIS file made from V2.2.0 in Brighton v2.6.0. When I tried to save it I got a message, I don't remember in specific complaining about not able to retrieve the file form temp folder. Now the original and only file I try to open gives me, no matter the version I use this message:

Project file read error: unexpected end of file at line 1 column 1 for file C:/Users/TraiLander/Documents/Milwaukee/x Brighton/Milky 4Phases plus Bridges.qgs


Can somebody tell me what happened and if there is a chance to rescue this map?
